Heavy Weather
Chicago is not for the weak.
Her waves are harsh, her fluctuations
Daunting.
We, Her People, the strong and mighty,
We stand tall, like the buildings She built,
Confident in our ability to fight the Wind,
But ultimately reduced back to mere bones
For Chicago never gives without taking,
Without testing, without teaching Us each
That we don’t change the Weather:
The Weather Changes Us.
